Welcome to a New Year!!!

Happy New Year!

As usual a new year always causes us to reflect about our previous year, and it was quite a semester for fifth grade! We had outdoor education week at Manaboa. The fifth graders started to design the stage that will be built this spring. We explored rocks (we even ate some!) We read about Mr. Popper's Penguins, and we even survived fractions!
We also have a lot to look foward to this semester! We will study Native Americans, learning about their ways of life. Also, the fifth grade will study matter, light and sound.
Wow, we are in for another exciting semester!!!

Doulos of the Week

Our Doulos of the Week this week was Joel!!!

He has shown a true servant's attitude in our class!

A Brand New Year!

Welcome to a brand new year! The fifth graders this year are incredibly intelligent! They are going to give their teacher, Mrs. O, a run for her money!
We have learned so much so far! In Science, we have studied plants. We even had a celebration where we all ate roots! Now we are learning about the human bodies. There are more exciting details to come!
Fifth grade has also learned a lot in English. We built boats, and even had a poetry slam! Now we are reading Island of the Blue Dolphins.
What an exciting new year, we have ahead of us!!!

Doulos 5th Grade Student of the Week

The Doulos of the week is Yeudi Ramirez.
Yeudi is an incredibly dynamic student and was an easy choice for Doulos of the week.
Yeudi is a man after God’s own heart and is constantly sharing his faith and glorifying Jesus! All of the students and staff are blessed by his contagious joy.
In addition to his character, Yeudi is a straight “A” student.
He loves to learn and help the other students when the need help.

Christian - 5th Grade Student at Doulos

Hi, my name is Christian I live in the Dominican Republic and I am 11 years old and I am in 5th grade. Dominican Republic has a lot of rivers and mountains and a lot of people. Dominican Republic is the prettiest place ever.

In this paragraph I am going to talk about my hobbies and how did I came to Doulos discovery school.

My hobbies are tennis, baseball. I came to this because my mom wanted my to have a new education because I was in Jarabocoa Christian school till up to 4th grade.

Clarivy - 5th Grade Student at Doulos

I live in Jarabacoa. In my house I have three dogs. My little dog named Chuchi, she jumps like rabbit. My other girl dog named Dalila, she is going to have babies. My other dog he’s a boy his name is Bruno, he is the only dog I like in my house. My dad has a stable where he has his horse. The horse’s color is black and white.

My house is very big. I have my own room. Everybody in my house has its own room. In my house there’s three rooms, three bathrooms and one in the stable.

I go to Doulos Discovery School. My first year I went to Christian School, but now I’m going to stay here until high school. I came to this school because I only have here in Jarabacoa two years and we are checking what school is the best. So far this school is the best.
